National Conference on Wind & Earthquake Engineering And International Seminar On Sustainable Construction Engineering

NCWE 2020

For the 4th NCWE, we proudly present to you a new and improved version – we have upgraded this colloquium into a  conference but still using the same abbreviation that is NCWE 2020. This time around we also included two mini events called International Seminar On Sustainable Construction Engineering (ISSCE 2020) that is co-organised with Beijing Jiaotong University and International Conference on Agricultural Technology and Engineering, and Environmental  Sciences (ICATES) 2020 that is co-organised by Agricultural Engineering Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala  University

During these past years, the numbers of building structural damage affected by extreme winds in Malaysia increased rapidly. These are because structural elements in Malaysia are not adequately designed for wind storm. Therefore, it is a must for a country like  Malaysia to address issues related to wind disasters in design consideration. The earth tremor due to  earthquake also has become more frequent in Malaysia. Majority of the tremors were originated from Sumatra Andaman and  Philippines earthquakes. However, the June 2015 Ranau earthquake which occurred in Sabah became a strong evidence  on why seismic design and retrofitting has to be considered in Malaysia. For this purpose, the NCWE 2020 will be co-hosted with of Civil Engineering UMP, UNSYIAH, Indonesia and and KMUTT, Thailand to gather top notch experts,  researchers, engineers, and scientist to present their findings related to the wind and earthquake engineering fields.

ISSCE 2020

Over the last few years, the importance of sustainability has been critically highlighted as it is important for the  preservation and sustainability of our earth as well as the health of our future generations. The concept of sustainability  expands to all areas of human activity, including construction engineering. Construction engineering is a complex  discipline that involves designing, planning, construction and management of infrastructures. The application of  elements of sustainability in any construction (engineering) activity increases the overall level of construction  sustainability.

International Seminar of Sustainable Construction Engineering (ISSCE 2020) aims to bring together leading academic  scientists, researchers and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all  aspects of Sustainable Construction Engineering. It also provides a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers,  practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as  practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the fields of Sustainable Construction Engineering

ICATES 2020

International Conference on Agricultural Technology and Engineering, and Environmental Sciences (ICATES) 2020 is  hosted by Agricultural Engineering Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University (recognizably abbreviated  as UNSYIAH), the largest and the oldest national university in Aceh. The ICATES 2020 is an event jointly organised for the  aim of convening experts from the academia and the industry to communicate their research, explore new knowledge  and broaden professional networks, particularly in the field of agricultural technology, engineering, and environmental  sciences. ICATES 2020 will provide an excellent forum for knowledge sharing and research findings that are related to  the research and innovations for Industry 4.0 and the latest technology development for enriching smart societies.
